For a period of time I was responsible for the technical maintenance and further development & design of BarskyDiamonds.com, the online gateway for a Philadelphia diamond and jewelry store.

The owner had purchased a very expensive ready-made specialized jewelry eCommerce solution, developed by an US company, which they installed in full encryption and did not provide any tech support for.

I was hired to implement changes within the functionality of the website and also maintain it. During my time with them I was forced to almost completely re-write the front end of the site, with some level of modifications to the back-end and the database structure too.

This was probably one of the most challenging projects I've worked on. All the source code was encrypted, and with a custom solution which had absolutely no documentation available at all, I had to figure out my way through it based solely on the database structure and basically re-write the site.

BarskyDiamonds.com - Complete Website Overhaul

Online gateway for Philadelphia interior design shop, featuring local artists and uniquely hand crafted items.

Website built from ground up using PHP, MySQL and Javascript. Client provided a detailed project document and page designs.

The site features Javascript-intensive dynamic navigation (AJAX) and data search, filtering and listing.

The entire content of the site is customizable through a secure back-end interface which also allows the addition of extra pages. I've also developed a tool that allows the admin to modify the texts from the site, on-the-fly directly within the site pages, for easy and accurate adjustments.

This work has been done through a 3rd party entity that sub-contracted my work, you can view my "hidden" credits by view-sourcing any page and scrolling to the bottom of the html code.

I enjoyed working on this project a lot, Kevin (the owner) is a great guy and also the work he features on the site is amazing.

Kunaki Payment Gateway modification
