Living Pregnant And Alone
Follow our fictitious friend, Mary, on a journey which she never saw coming, especially considering she is single and alone. The pregnancy test bought at the local drug store reads positive. She sits on the toilet in shock. How can this be happening? I only had sex with him one time. I barely know him. He doesn’t even give me the time of day most days. How will I get through this? What will happen to my schooling (career, marriage)? Do I have to remain pregnant? I am so confused. Mary is not alone although she doesn’t realize that yet. She is one of a staggering number of women world-wide who have found themselves in this predicament. Some are divorced, many are single. They come from all walks of life: educated, blue collar workers, professionals, students…the list goes on and on. But the important similarity, the one thing we will primarily focus on today, is that they are single and alone.
