Things I am interested in working on include online research projects, and data entry. What interests me most about ghost writing is that it makes me have an inside view of life of the other person. This is especially so with biography writing. Proof reading interests me because it makes me use my linguistic tools for myself and the party I’m performing the task for. Same applies to editing, captioning and transcribing. Other services I offer are such as clicking on icons, watching video clips, making referrals, etc., upon receiving client request. I only work on scientific projects such as medical and engineering, etc., when it simply involves data entry with processes automated to provide desired results. My strengths include good command of English and Kiswahili languages; both conversational and written. I am able to communicate proficiently in both languages. I chose this career because people kept challenging me to write. Secondly, I am very keen on detail. I always strive to completely understand the need and requirements of each task before I get down to its execution. This has come about both naturally, but on the most part, I sharpened it during my working days at the Insurance agency mentioned above. In that role, the smallest detail determined failure or success of an operation. The knowledge that it was a matter of life and death kept me on my toes, and could not allow me to let the tiniest detail to slip through the cracks. That quality stays with me to date, to the benefit of my clients. Thirdly, I am a resilient person. I am not a quitter. I am able to stand the pressure of the moment to the end. When it comes to deadlines, I don’t let any obstruction to take my eye off the price. I ensure that I only go to sleep with the trophy in my hands and nothing less. This quality has also pushed me to overcome the challenge of procrastination. I do, now, what I need to do now. Patience is another attribute that I posses. There is always temptation to give up on important things in life, especially when they seem too challenging or too long coming. For me, I have learnt the secret of being patient. I know that most things in life don’t happen overnight nor do they happen magically. Most of these things require our active participation and input. That input, in most cases, involves the time element. Team work is a critical skill when it comes to group dynamics where people have to achieve things together. Life is generally about working in partnership with others. Team work also means understanding the thoughts in the other person’s mind and knowing how to harness that to the best interest of everyone involved. Conflicts arise in the work place when this skill is lacking. I am able to listen or read and get beyond what I hear or see and respond to the real need behind the sound or text.
