Design a Training Manual

We have a Training Manual that requires re-designing. The main focus of the re-design is in the look and feel of the layout and formatting as the current manual (word format) is dull and un-inspiring.
The Manual consists of thirteen modules (approximately 600 pages) a manual cover, spine and back (see attached communication module). Even though there will be no change to the manual content, we will require some illustration (see: [url removed, login to view]) and the finished product to be separated into: Content; Activities and Assignment. The re-design should result in a more professional and contemporary looking manual (see example attached). The finished product will be printed.
Example/s of similar works is required. Further direction will be given to the successful selection.
