I need someone that can create illustrations for a book.
This is a children's book and needs to have great detail.
For instance, if the page will have a little girl with a dollhouse there needs to be details in the house and background.
I'm not sure the style I'm interested in, so I'd love to see some portfolios.
This book is about 20 pages and will need illustrations for each page, front and back cover.
I will need to own the rights to all images and characters, but will include credits on the book and other materials related to the book and art.
If you've done book illustrations before, that's a plus!
Please include a bid with portfolio information.
More details of what I'm looking for:
I am adding pictures of my daughter as reference. The main character is based from her. There will be two characters throughout the book (bedtime rhyme story). A mother and a small 3 year old child. The features I would like to stand out are her almond eyes, ears and curly hair. The character will wear rain boots and a specialy 4 leaf clover bracelet in most upcoming books. She will also have a toy ducky and doll that will appear (somewhere) in every illustration. My child is black, so I would like the character to look the same (although her skin is light). That means, round nose, curly/wild hair, and pouty lips. I don't want it to look too realistic (like a portrait), but I also don't want it to look too simplistic--taking away from her quirky features.
Here is a small part from the book:
She slouched over far while Mama braided her hair
She grunted and frowned and wiggled in her chair
“I don’t want to go to bed.”
(main character is grumpy at this point)
I am also attaching some images that are the styles that I like for a children's book. (I apologize for all of the attachments)
There are future books, so want a long term working relationship with whomever I select.
This book is very important to me and I am being very selective about my choice.

I need to own the rights to the illustrations and characters. I have many plans for branding and actual products (doll in particular). If you are unwilling to give me full copyright to the illustrations/characters now or on any future project, I will have to reject the bid.
