Codeigniter site update/fix

I have recently moved a clients very old site over to my hosting platform (from cpanel to cpanel)
Their site was built on codeigniter (an old version by the look of it) and I have no experience at all in it.
Now its on the new platform with a newer version of PHP etc it throwing errors.
I need it fixed.
If that means you need to updated codeigniter, or just comment some code or even turn off error reporting I don't care. Just need it fixed.
