Sirs, we look for an experienced programmer used with videolan's VLC ([login to view URL]) to make a simple display of video in a pop-up (I.E. 6/7) launched by an specific event.
It have to implement command line control (-start time) in order to seek for the video position to start and stop.
The following lines explain the whole situation.
A camera automatically stores videos (.avi) in a FTP server (a basic NAS storage). The are 5 mintues long each one. And only when there's any
movement are saved. These all are features from the camera.
In a web interface a user needs to see an specific time, and request with a POST something like:
http://..../2008-25-03-07-45-21&Camera1
He needs to see 10 seconds after and before that time in a player embedded in a webpage (like VLC
[login to view URL]) An extra feature is the possibility to "jump" to another time,
or to extend the period (more 10 seconds) in the same camera.
To make "playlist" can use any method, like building a XML file or using a SQlit database to store the files.
The limitations and possitilities are:
-NAS can only run FTP and SAMBA
-Pages are stored in IIS, no access to SQL db from the server.
-SQlite db can be used, as long is self contained in the project.
-C Deamon can be used to create playlist (xml for example), as long as it runs as a windows service.
-A setup / config file is needed to declare cameras and storage locations/names and login restrictions to ftp.
-Only I.E 6/7 compatibility needed
-The video can be in a pop-up.
It's an openmind project, so suggestions are welcomed. Some speciall tools are available, as a C deamon to generate XML, another to run Mencoder with an input file.
All this with source code, can be used as help.
