Live update of master spreadsheet

Hi all,

I would like to use google docs spreadsheet to do live updates in a time critical environment and this spreadsheet needs to generate a code when the data has been created. I then need this update to feed into a master excel spreadsheet that is saved in the hard drive.

Is this possible? I would need this done for approximately 14 different spreadsheets.
