Human Resources leader for fin-tech startup

We are a financial-technology MNC with about 16 Teammates across the globe (US, Liberia, India, Kuwait, Pakistan, Nigeria, Morocco, Ethiopia, Benin, Philippines, Mexico,... ). Each of us on our Team are very entrepreneurial and hardworking. Our compensation is an hourly stipend and our ‘real’ money comes from 34% of company profits fairly shared among the team based on clear metrics.

We’ve recently signed a contract to deliver one of our product lines to the largest wireless carrier in Africa. This is a huge Win by the Team and also a stepping stone to delivering our products throughout Africa, Latin America, and parts of Asia. Our focus is developing and marketing technology providing value to our customers and high volume, high-margin recurring-revenue to the company.

We work asynchronous hours - whenever is best for each of us and our teammates - all towards results. Depending on the position, there are certain mandatory hours & meetings. Other than that we are able to work 24x7, are generally available 24x7, and log/track our hours using Monitask.

Your primary responsibility will be to establish our HR function, including creating policy & processes. Specially we need:

QPS: Equitable disbursement of our quarterly profit share. We have teammates who are taking lesser pay in order to benefit more during our QPS. We also have fair-market paid Teammates who also will participate. We need an objective methodology, agreed to by each Teammate (16 now), on how the QPS is distributed.

Compensation: Fair compensation for role and skills. We have Teammates in many countries (see above) and each country has its own standard pay rates, some vary by location within the country. We need a solid, objective reference for each position, pay-grades within the position, and objective measures to determine which position & pay-grade each teammate is at. Once the position and level is known, we will set the pay according to the ‘usual and customary’ of the region they are in. This will apply to all Teammates in the company, from new, junior, clerks, through our C-level.

Perks: At the management level, we need fair, usual and customary perks, bonus’s, incentives, etc. so there is no bias or abuse.

Training: we need to establish and evolve an internal training program, perhaps an LMS, to effectively and efficiently bring new Teammates up to speed.

Scale: We intend to scale quickly beginning in a month or two. We need a program where each function is able to scale with minimal impact. This also will be a component factoid into the QPS program.

New Hires: (see above) we will need to hire talented, entrepreneurial teammates - quickly and effectively.

KPIs: Performance Management System (KPI, IDP, IPP) which will be objectively folded into the QPS.

Essential requirements are:

1. Honest, committed, optimistic, motivational, self-starting professional who leads by example.

2. Ability to speak up openly and ‘challenge’ ideas and processes when needed

3. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written

4. Highly organized and structured, logical, and purposeful

5. excellent ability to establish and document processes

6. Ability to mentor and train new teammates as your department grows

7. Daily availability between 7:30am and 12:30pm EDT (GMT-4) and general availability 24x7 as needed

8. Proficient with google docs, google drive, MS office, etc.

9. Good PC/laptop, internet connection, and professional home office environment

Compensation, in addition to the quarterly-Profit-share, is $2 USD per hour, as logged in Monitask.
