Basically I'm looking to build a site that allows the user to add questions and then tag those questions with different subject matters. For example, if I enter a question about pneumonia, I would tag it with "pulmonary" and "infectious disease". The user could then filter questions in the question bank via tags. I have all the questions in PDF format and I plan to copy and past them into the site via text so that the storage requirements would be minimal. (Obviously hundreds or thousands of PDF questions stored via an image would take a lot of space). The questions would have multiple choice answers and the software should be able to grade the user's responses. Ideally, a question would be presented and then allow the user to select an answer via multiple choice. Once the answer is selected then the answer would appear below the question with an explanation.
I'm not really sure how hosting would work for this but I suppose that could be addressed later. And I don't really know what technology would be best. I suppose it doesn't matter is this is a relatively straightforward project. I will allow other users to access the content.
I'm going to Google software that already may exist for this purpose but I just wanted to get some idea of how much it would cost to develop such software so that I could own it and make modifications as I wanted.
