User Objectives 2.1. Performance Requirements 2.1.1. Security Requirement The complete application will run under SSL certificate from instantSSL or thawte (on sole desecration of client). The data will be stored in encrypted form and proper algorithm will be in place. The SSL standard is not a single protocol, but rather a set of accepted data transfer routines that are designed to protect the integrity of transmitted messages. SSL - Diagram SSL The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol uses a combination of public-key and symmetric-key encryption. Symmetric-key encryption is much faster than public-key encryption; however, public-key encryption provides better authentication techniques. An SSL session always begins with an exchange of messages called the SSL handshake. The handshake allows the server to authenticate itself to the client by using public-key techniques, and then allows the client and the server to cooperate in the creation of symmetric keys used for rapid encryption, decryption, and tamper detection during the session that follows. Implementation After signoff of all the deliverables in the planning stage work will proceed for the development, collaborating through the extranet (using collaboration tools) with weekly builds of the week. 2.4. Project Maintenance We provide unconditional support on any errors/bugs coming out of the functionality we delivered anytime after the project is completed and signed off and this will be done at no extra cost and on priority basis. We also provide the maintenance for the application and the website once it is delivered to the client.
