Born on 13th June 1979, Saikat Mallick, a resident of Kolkata has done post graduation in Film Editing from FTII, Pune between 2003-07. He has several documentaries to his credit as director.
As an associate director he has worked in the feature Ocean of an Old Man, the film that was granted the Asian Cinema Fund for postproduction at Busan International Festival in 2008.
As cinematographer he has shot parts of Tracing Phalke, an anthology on the life and times of Dadashaheb Phalke.
He has edited the documentary on BBC Hindi Service named Voices Across the Ocean, which went on to win the National Award for Best Director in 2008.
At present he is working for a feature film in Bangladesh.
