Verd & Água is a bath and beauty brand launching a new product which is a set of 6 bath bombs. Our aim is to create unique packaging that is gift quality and communicates all natural organic ingredients that improve well being.
These will sell online so it's critical that the design photographs well against a white background and stands out in search results. Some competitors have beautiful packaging that presents well in person, but not as well online which is a weakness we can capitalized on.
Please design these items:
- 1 packaging box design
- Color scheme for individual bath bombs, or individual bath bomb packaging
= DIMENSIONS =
Each bath bomb is 3" diameter sphere. 6 total in the set.
Dimensions of the box are 9.875" x 6.75" x 3.375" for the time being.
= PACKAGING CONCEPT =
BOX DETAILS -> We're leaning towards a rigid box but the box type has not been determined yet. We're also considering a tin box. The idea of of texture is appealing as well. (see competitor #2 texture)
**Bath bombs are very fragile so it's critical to address that. Competitors have included shredded paper filler inside the box or wrapped each in tissue paper to add extra cushioning.
BOX INFORMATION-> The box packaging must contain the following information:
FRONT:
1) Verd & Água logo. (See vector files. Can be modified however)
2) Six large 5 oz bath bombs
OPTIONAL:
You can add more descriptors additional copy works better with your design:
1) Organic
2) Moisturizing
3) All natural
BACK:
This is placeholder copy for now can be organized however. See file attachments for examples.
1) 100% Natural with Organic Essential Oils
Six Large 5oz/142g Bath Bombs
2) Six of our most popular formulations exploding with organic essential oils and Shea and Cocoa butters to moisturize, relax, energize, and help soothe sore muscles and headaches.
3) Ingredients: Baking Soda, Citric Acid, Sea Salt, Epsom Salt, Corn Starch, Sugar, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Safflower Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil, Aovocado Oil.
* Each bomb contains additional blends of unique Essential Oils.
4) Instructions: Draw bath to your desired warmth, drop in water and enjoy the fizz and aromas of the essential oils. Relax and allow yourself to be pampered while you moisturize and soften your skin.

BATH BOMB DETAILS -> Each bath bomb is a 3" diameter sphere and can be a different solid color or swirl of color but they must be attractive to bath in. (I.E. no browns!) We haven't decided if the bath bombs will just be all white with some colorful individual packaging or if they will be dyed with color and shrink wrapped. Help us make this decision!
BATH BOMB THEMES
Names have yet to be determined but the general themes are as follows:
1) Relax
2) Detox
3) Energize
4) Love
5) Decongest
6) Inspire
= ATTACHMENTS =
1) Vector logo. Can be modified.
2) Competitor photos. Notes:
Competitor 1: Highest volume sales, but the worst quality product. Might be because the product photographs well against a white background. The colors stand out in search results.
Competitor 2: The packaging is beautiful in person but not as effective in photos. Box has a recycled paper texture that emphasizes the all natural ingredients.
Competitor 3: Presents very well in person but not as well through online photographs. We like the floral patterns on the box.
Competitor 4: Not crazy about the design but the bolder colors definitely stand out better in search results.
Competitor 5: Like their colors but the box is too flimsy.
Competitor 6: Looks ok in person but doesn't stand out in photos.

Hey everyone. Thanks so much for all of your amazing entries. I was truly blown away by so many of these that it made the decision extremely difficult. I've been pulling my hair out the past few days trying to pick one. But after thinking this through from all different angles and consulting with friends and colleagues I have finally chosen a winner. Her design features a white box, which I was initially apprehensive about but she has shown me techniques we can use to make this stand out in a very elegant way. I built a mockup and holding the box in person the design just feels so right for the product. Again, I thank you all for your hard work and I wish you the best in your future contests.

Hey, Bomb Man...hee hee. I'm having a real hard time working this way as I have so many questions and all of the info below is getting really convoluted. One big issue...to convolute matters further...is not only presentation, but post purchase bathroom placement. The container. I'd sit my tin on the side of the bath and it would rust. Maybe this doesn't matter. I need market research. I don't want to explode your brain. Targeting girls in their 20s vs. older is distinctly different. Bright and loud vs. wellbeing and spa-ish. I'll keep thinking to come up with a compromise. I need you to say "yay" or "nay" in the comment section of my entries. Thanks!

Hey good point. I am seeing with these there needs to be clear direction towards spa/well being vs. young bright and loud. Let's go towards spa/well being but still try to do it in a way that stand out from the competitors.

This logo isn't actually a workable vector. The image is embedded. It's a photo, basically. Do you have original artwork?

The first order of packaging will be produced in the US because of time constraints, but I have nothing against having subsequent orders being produced overseas. Just because the first packaging MOQ is 1000 units, I would say don't get too crazy fancy but if you are easily able to show me a couple options fancy vs less fancy I may go with fancy if I am crazy about it.

Each bath bomb is a different scent. We're still working out the formulations. All we have now is the general themes of each one listed in the lower half of the brief. The packaging doesn't have to be eco-friendly.. I don't want to limit it to that just yet.

Thanks for participating! Yes the items will be shipped and that will all be handled by a fulfillment center. I will not be in control of whether or not they get piled on top of each other at their warehouse so to be safe I would just assume that it probably will happen some of the time.

Thanks for your participation! I love the overall experience of competitor 2 - the texture and colors effectively communicate natural organic ingredients and no complex synthetic chemicals. I do like the retro graphics in their case, but in general I prefer the modern style sometimes with some vintage elements added in for contrast.

FYI to everyone - You don't have to use the gray background included with the logo file. That is not part of the logo, it's just a background so the white font is visible.

The target audience is women. We want it to appeal to women ~23 and up but also not be so stuffy that women below 23 are not interested. There is a company called Lush (http://www.lushusa.com/Bath-Bombs/bath-bombs,en_US,sc.html) that is very targeted towards younger woman, however we are interested in a slightly more sophisticated image.
