I am working on an animal welfare project aimed at improving the welfare for laboratory mice. For this I need to have a nice looking poster or infographic with a guide on how to pick them up more gently. I will need to have some illustrations based on photos, and some text added. I would like to have the illustrations separately as well as on the poster.
I like coral/orange-red colours, so that might be nice as a background color if it fits. If some other color is better according to you, that is fine.
I want a professional but friendly look, not overly childish or overly strict, it should attract both technical staff and academics. Not a cluttered design. The illustrations do not need to be identical to the pictures if you would like to adjust or change things. It is good if it can be printed in A3 format. Portrait or Landscape does not matter. Please ask if you have any questions or if anything is unclear - or if I have missed something! :)
POSTER/INFOGRAPHIC INFO:
The headline should be: "Handle with care"
Optional header or main focus picture: handlewithcare1.jpg OR handlewithcare2.jpg OR handlewithcare3.jpg
Optional subtitle: "A guide to switching handling methods"
Text for tunnel.jpg picture: Provide a tunnel as enrichment in the home cage
Text for guide.jpg picture: Guide the mice into the tunnel when picking them up
Text for intunnel.jpg picture: Give them a choice whether to go in or out (& if you need to get them out, tip them gently backwards onto a safe place)
Text for scoop.jpg and/or scoop2.jpg picture: To lift the mice with your hands, scoop them up gently and let them move freely in your hand
Text for closedhands.jpg picture: You can close your hands loosely around the mouse if you are concerned that it might jump from your hands
OPTIONAL: text for approach.jpg picture: Well-handled mice are likely to approach you voluntarily
If I get good entries I might pick a winner earlier than 7 days.
