<Technology Description>
This technology is a technology that reduces the speed of the own vehicle, when the driver of the own vehicle is unable to drive, so that the driver of the following vehicle does not have to abruptly brake.
There is a device that decelerates the own vehicle and brings it to a stop when the driver of the own vehicle is unable to drive. One of the problems that can be anticipated with using this device is that it takes relatively long time for the following vehicle to detect the preceding vehicle (the own vehicle) on roads with poor visibility such as curves, so the following vehicle may need to abruptly brakes to avoid a collision with the preceding vehicle (own vehicle), when this device decelerates the own vehicle in the same manner as on a straight road with good visibility.
To solve this problem, based on the degree of curve of roads, this device determines the position at which to start decelerating the own vehicle or the degree of deceleration of the own vehicle, when the driver of the own vehicle is unable to drive, in this technology.
