Convert chrome extension to developer tools extension

This is a very urgent project and very easy,takes only an hour

I have a chrome extension that opens a floating window in the browser but breaks if the page has Javascript errors, inherits the colors from the page, etc.

I figured I should have developed it as a Developer Tools Extension like this one [url removed, login to view]

I need help converting it to an extension and also adding a few new features, and bug fixes.

In order to qualify for an interview, please provide a few lines of code that solve this problem (the code would reside inside a chrome add-in):

1. Get the user agent from the request

2. Use a regular expression to extract the Chrome version number

3. Print the extracted version number in the Javascript console

For example: "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/[url removed, login to view] Safari/537.36"
