Custom Web Based Email Newsletter Script

The web based newsletter script will accept the input of a CSV file which will contain many fields, but the only fields that will be used for the newsletter will be the name and email address.

When the CSV file is uploaded, each email address is checked for duplicates in the existing system. If any duplicates are located then those entries are removed from the database and not added to the newsletter queue.

There will be a number of emails loaded into the system (and the admin can add more) each email will be delivered after a predetermined number of days.

(0 = instantly, 1 = delay one day, 2 = delay two days etc)

The logged in admin can add, remove and edit the emails in the email queue.

Limit the system to send out emails at the rate of 100 per hour maximum. Also send the emails with a 30 second delay between the sending of each email.

Use the placeholders of:

%%FIRSTNAME%%

%%LASTNAME%%

%%UNSUBSCRIBE%%

So that this information can be inserted into each email title or body.

Of course you will need to replace %%UNSUBSCRIBE%% with an unsubscribe link.

In order to access this system a username and password must be provided, please make them:

The admin can edit that username and password when logged in.

When the admin logs in this information is presented to him on the home screen:

Below that information is the place where the admin can upload the CSV file containing the data with the persons to add into the system.

When the CSV file is uploaded the screen will refresh and show the following information:

Number of duplicates removed:

Below that is the email add/edit/delete system. Each email is listed here, using their title to describe them. The format to display each email in the queue is:

[Number of Delay Days] [Email Title] [Number of people receiving this email today] [EDIT / DELETE]

Emails are listed using they're delay days. From the lower delay days to the higher delay days.

When [EDIT] is clicked the Email Delay Days, Title and Email body can be edited here. All emails are sent in html format.

Below the editing of the email are three options:

[Save & Send Test] [Save] [Save & Close]

[Save & Send Test] = If save and send test is clicked, the email will be saved, and the admin will receive the email as a test email. The page is not redirected to the home page.

[Save] = The email is saved, but the page is not redirected to the homepage

[Save & Close] = The email is saved and the page is redirected to the homepage

Note: If this all sounds like a standard newsletter script, that's because it basically is. It's just that I want the script to work the way that I have described above.

Although this script will most likely be created in PHP, I will need the look to be professional. I will not accept a poor looking UI that looks like crap. I want a good looking UI that will impress even the most advanced computer user.
