Responsible for development, coordination, publication and promulgation of automation and telecommunications policy for the Army in Europe (AE) and the 7th Army. Develops policy and standards at the Major Command (MACOM) level in compliance with guidelines created at higher organizational levels, such as the Department of Defense (DoD), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), African Command (AFRICOM) and European Command (EUCOM). Independently identifies the need for and develops new policy or recommends changes to existing Department of the Army (DA) policies, standards and procedures for managing the IM/IT disciplines of automation and telecommunications, supplements, memorandums, pamphlets, or circulars concerning automation and telecommunication systems or equipment. Ensures changes modifications, additions, or upgrades are in accordance with established legal and regulatory requirements. Reviews regulations to ensure adherence to existing policy contained in other DA, DoD, GAO, GSA, and EUCOM directives and United States Public Laws. Responds to request for interpreting policy and standards for IM/IT identified by HQ 7th Army Staff Elements, 7th Army Command, 5th Signal Command, IMCOM-E and tenant activities. Provides accurate and timely technical expertise and guidance to DA and other DoD activities in automation and telecommunication policy and standards. Coordinates draft versions of the policy, procedures, and standards with personnel within USAREUR G6 and 5th Signal Command, HQ 7th Army Staff Elements, 7th Army Commands and tenant activities, and IMCOM-E. Considers comments received as a result of the staffing process and incorporates pertinent comments, within the draft policy, regulation, or guidance. Works directly with the assigned organizational point of contact (POC) to resolve any non-concurrences, received as a result of staffing. Develops considerations of non-concurrence for those, which were not able to be resolved. Develops a staff action summary (SAS) and forwards entire package to 7th Army Chief of Staff for approval to publish. Coordinates final agreements on matters within my areas of expertise. Maintains knowledge of current IM/IT policies in order to develop clear and understandable policies and procedures and to produce executive level correspondence, reports and briefings. Serve as an Information Assurance Specialist/Information Assurance training coordinator-Redstone Arsenal in the Information Assurance Policy Branch. Duties include, but not limited to, providing on-site Information Assurance (IA) Specialist support services. Provides policy development services in support of IT Information Assurance requirements. Provides Information Assurance support and policy guidance to the installation and installation tenants. Provides guidance and support for the protection of IT systems, PC's, Local Area Networks (LANs), and Wide Area Networks. (WANs). Provides guidance on accreditations procedures and appropriate computer security measures. Coordinates the required Information Assurance training and certification classes for personnel,i.e. security plus, network plus, CISSP etc . Proctor for the Redstone Arsenal Pearson Vue Test Center. Knowledge in IA and policy writing, prepares Information Assurance policies, tracks and verifies Information Assurance violations, prepares Information Assurance reporting documentation. Researches, identifies, evaluates, and provides status of information assurance controls, analyzes security incidents and documents response procedures and reports actions. Conducts technical vulnerability assessments, assists system administrators in applying security patches and validating changes, assisting in the creation and/or validation of certification and accreditation documentation. I evaluate potential IA security risks and recommend corrective actions. Knowledge of DoD certification and accreditation procedures (DIACAP/DITSCAP), ability to read, comprehend and interpret security audit logs. Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Have a working knowledge of Remedy. Manages the Army IA Training and Certification Tracking System for Redstone Arsenal and facilitates annual IA Awareness training and new hire training. Ensures all required IA training and certification is completed for the proper IT levels and management levels as required in accordance with AR 25-2, DoD 8570.01- M, and the IA training and certification Best business practices (BBP). Knowledgeable with DoD and Army regulations AR 25-2, DoD 8570.01-M, NIST and FISMA requirements. Verify security clearance information & approve system administrator accounts. Knowledgeable in data encryption, data at rest and other security measures. Jmmed2008 (the worker) agreed in their Worker Contract that if their project went into arbitration, they would respond to the arbitrator's questions fully and on a timely basis, or they would forfeit the arbitration. An arbitration occurred and jmmed2008 did not do this. All funds in escrow were returned to TimelessWorks (the employer).
