Optimization of gate valve structure based on strength parameters using finite element analysis

Springer
Finite element analysis is applied to the gate valve body to obtain results of stress and deformation. The structure of the model gate valve is improved by topology optimization. The weight reduction obtained from the topology optimization technique suggested that the rib designing method can be successfully implemented. The sensitivity analysis was also carried out to depict the deformation in the vale body decreasing with increase in the number of ribs.
