Adding comic strip navigation to an existing Tumblr theme - repost 2

I've been using a tumblr theme that I like for my daily webcomic, but it's really been killing me that it doesn't have proper webcomic navigation. I've uploaded a screen of what I have, and a crude mock up of what I want. Ideally, this would be the first step in a line of future improvements, but this has to happen first.
