Customisation to SugarCRM to provide a link with each phone number with POST functionality

I have a client who is using Sugar on Demand ([url removed, login to view]) - I believe they are using Sugar Professional.

I need to be able to do two things:

1 - Add a custom field to a view that will allow us to store a phone extension number for each user.

2 - On views that have phone numbers, add a link that uses the "Post" functionality to pass the extension number and the customer phone number to a separate URL that will then operate a Click To Dial functionality. The Click to dial is outside the scope of this project - I simply need the working link.

I cannot provide access to the customers SugarCRM, so I will either need solid instructions on how to implement this in a SugarCRM implementation, a walk through on trial data, or to provide supervised access to the system. I am a Senior Network Engineer with basic PHP and HTML skills to give you some idea of the level of skill I have in implementing a solution.
