Hi,
Please quote on writing a custom function and follow up UI for the following.
Pricing management does not exist in Zoho. We need some sort of control over when prices change on goods received via a bill to be notified and given opportunity to amend selling prices.
I have created 4 custom fields in our items file.
Last Cost Price
Average Cost Price
Last Date of Purchase
Suggested Mark-up
When we receive items on a bill, I need the Last and Average cost prices to be updated automatically. This will then be used to do sales price management.
1) Last Cost - landed price of items in Bill
2) Average Cost Price - Current Avg price of stock on floor, recalculated to include new purchase.
3) Last Date of Purchase - Date Stamp of last bill processed with this item.
Just by doing above, will already go a long way, as I can see these fields when doing a quote or estimate. At least will have guidance or last cost structure.
Next step will have to be some sort of pricing management app or fuction.
Each time prices are updated by above, need to keep track of it and then be able to go into a UI where I can calculate new selling prices and update these to the item file.
Not sure what the effect will be, maybe at this stage also have the option to update the Purchase Rate of an item in the item file. (Not sure what Zoho does with this rate, but currently it never gets updated)
