Building a video uploading and sharing website

We want to build a web service for users to upload, share, and watch video. This includes designs of front-end web pages and embedded Macromedia flash content with video, back-end database, and art design. The website can be similar to: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] I. Features and functions 1. Video uploading User is able to upload video clips in popular formats, which are then converted (by 3rd part tools) to video in Macromedia Flash video format to be viewed. 2. Video watching User is able to select and watch uploaded public video online. (See attachment for complete features) II. Technical skills requirements: 1. Familiar with Unix/Linux and development under Unix/Linux environment 2. Expertise and experiences in web page design, DHTML, CSS, XML, Perl 3. Expertise and experiences in PHP 4. Expertise and experiences in JavaScript 5. Expertise and experiences in mySQL, relational database design, planning, and content management 6. Familiar with popular video formats and conversion tools 7. Expertise and experiences in web design using Macromedia tools, such as embedding and integrating Macromedia Flash and video into web pages 8. Familiar with web servers 9. Strong capability in art design for web pages, including logos, images, buttons, etc. III. How to proceed: 1. The vendor has to provide the following for our evaluation: i. Samples of past projects completed on similar database-driven web services that also use Macromedia Flash; ii. A project proposal including: 1. time schedule; 2. proposal of web architecture and database design; 3. proposal of underlying technologies and what tools to use. iii. A quote; 2. This description is only used for evaluation and quotation. A final version of the product requirement document will be given (through discussions between the buyer and vendor) before an agreement is reached. The development has to follow the final requirement document agreed by the two parties.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional website, back-end services, and databases in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

Websites have to be tested in all modern web browsers including IE, Moilla, Opera, Netscape, and multiple platforms including Windows, Unix, MacOS that support Macromedia Flash.
