The goal of this exercise is to implement a peer-to-peer system (consisting of one server and
several clients) for the transmission of arbitrary (binary) files. Client and server are supposed
to be developed in C under Linux. Transmission of data as well as exchange of control
information is conducted using TCP. Additionally, UDP is used for server discovery on the
network.
**The most important thing is to have comments explaining what each function does, detailed and understandable.
Functional overview:**
The peer-to-peer client is supposed to be able to provide one file for download as well as to
download one file from another client. The server shall act as a broker for the clients and
maintains a TCP connection to each of them in order to exchange status information. Each
client offers an UI that displays a list of provided files and allows selecting one file for
download. The download is performed directly between two clients.
**Feature requests:**
1) The server has to support up to ten clients.
2) The client’s UI shall allow displaying and refreshing the list of provided files. If a file
has been selected for download, the progress is presented to the user.
3) In order to download a file the client connects to the providing client using TCP’s
“active open??. The peer directly starts to send the file and the process stays invisible
to the user. At client side, the transmitted file is saved to disk.
4) Clients discover a server by sending a UDP multicast message.
**Implementation requests:**

## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
