Purpose:

We are looking for you to create a working prototype that can track and log a users clickpath/browser clicks/visited URLs as a user navigates through a web site on an external domain. A user will go to a URL hosted on our site that will in turn either display an external domain website or launch a new window that displays an external domain website (by external domain, we mean any website that is not hosted on our servers, e.g., [[url removed, login to view]][1]). As the user navigates through that web site, the URLs that they visit must be captured and logged in a database or log file with other variables such as the date/time of the click, and others. We are seeking a way of intercepting these cross-domain clickpaths. The user will agree to this tracking before the tracking takes place.

Requirements:

Our ideal solution will meet the following requirements: (listed in order of importance)

-Must require no changes to the external web site being tested code, permission-level, or otherwise)

-Solution must not feature any client side downloads. (i.e., plug-in’s, etc.)

-Solution must be cross browser compatible

-Solution must be cross platform compatible

-Solution will ideally be developed in ASP.NET and other related technologies, although depending on feasibility, this is flexible.

Other notes:

Cross-domain security issues prevent us from using Javascript to get this information.

A Proxy server solution has been attempted but with inconsistent results across a wide variety of external web sites tested.

Your deliverables will be a written technology solution and a prototype showing that solution actually working.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

Windows

ASP.net

Internet Explorer

Ideal solution will be cross browser, cross platform compatible. While ASP/ASP.net is preferred, this requirement will take a backseat to a solution that works.
