Database Schema Design for Financial Data

To design a financial market database. Data to be stored include historical quotes, company information, historical financial results, and etc. The database will be used to support a personal financial portal. There is a huge collection of data to be stored. Hence the database design should be scalable, robust and efficient. Deliverables: SQL schema *** Notes **** 1 year -> 260 end of day quotes 5 year -> * 5 1000 stocks -> * 1000 Each quote can be stored as a row, which may be inefficient and may not work in MySql. The successful bidder is required to come out with a better solution.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

Hello all, I would like to build a personal financial portal to assist me on investment in the stock market. For a start the portal is to provide financial data including the latest quotes, historical stock prices with charts, company financial results, and relevant news & blogs gathered from a few sources. I know there are plenty of websites providing such information but that's not the case here in my country. Researching a company always requires me to browse several different websites. Hence I'd like to put every information together in one place, which is the main objective of my project. I haven't really thought about the details of the project. Nonetheless the database for storing the latest and historical quotes is essential and I want to get it designed first. That's really what the job is about.
