Searching User Control

I want an ASP.NET ( VB.NET ) User Control written that will facilitate searching and filtering of a grid control.? This user control will contain a number of fields and will filter a grid control that is refererenced externally.

I am using the DevExpress suite of tools.? I will provide a sample database to use and expect a sample application to show me that it works, along with instructions on how to implement and setup the control in my application.

Environment: ? ? ASP.NET/VB.NET, SQL Server 2005, DevExpress XtraGrid and ASP.NET controls 8.3.

A test database will be provided to you populated with data

I need a user control created that will be used to filter the contents of a treeview control/grid.? One of the properties of this control will be to set the treeview/control that is located outside? of this control.

.? The treeview control will be populated with a list of students.? The purpose of the User Search Control is to filter the treeview control.

As the user types characters in the field, a SQL string will be created and applied to the treeview control to filter.? Clearing the field will remove that portion of the filter

**First Name label and text input control**

As the user types characters in the field, a SQL string will be created and applied to the external treeview control.? This option must be able to be turned on/off.

**ID label and text input control**

The ID label field will need to accept text input that may come from a bar code reader.? This is equivalent to typing text and pressing Enter.? When the enter key is pressed, a SQL string is generated that can be used to perform a search in the database.? The search will do a lookup in the treeview control for this value and put focus on the found record within the treeview control. Focus must return to this control when a search is complete.

**LETTER SEARCH**

There will be 26 buttons, from A-Z. Each button, when pressed will generate a SQL string that can used to perform a search in the database and filter the treeview control.? Will be cumulative to drop down selections.? An additional button named ‘All’ will have the effect of clearing the letter search.

There will be a drop down list tied to a view in the database.? When the user makes a selection, then a SQL string will be generated that will filter the treeview control.? Must be able to hide/show this drop down.? Must be able to set the data source, PK and Description field for this drop down.

? I want a sample application showing that the user control works.? I should easily be able to incorporate this user control into my own application.
