Does the diversity of moral beliefs across the world constitute a good argument for moral relativism? Why or why not? Utilitarianism (of some variety) is probably the most popular moral theory in ethics today. Deontologists, however, often claim that utilitarianism leads to absurd consequences. Utilitarians, in turn, accuse deontologists of being too morally "rigid". Who is right? Defend one of the two views over and against the other.
