Assuming that you're running it on a Linux server and that you can provide credentials to ssh into the server, I'd gladly look into it - even if the expected boost might require some changes that aren't at all related to Apache. You should get at least a clear diagnosis about what's making your server being slow, and then that issue solved - if possible. (Sometimes, it's as easy as a slow harddisk + insufficient memory...) . Ran multiple websites using both Apache and Lighttpd I was and still am a systems administrator for 2 years running websites that have had 1000's of hits per day running servers that needed load balancing due to the traffic loads. Student looking for extra money.
