Let me guess: you want to connect simple phone to your computer and send and recieve SMS from computer through connected phone. Am I right? If so I can propose some ways depending on operating system. For unix-like system I propose to setup and set up special daemon and utilities. It's possible to set up different reaction on incoming SMS, calls. Very useful and very stable decision which already works more than 3 years. For Windows it possible to use this daemon too. But under Linux emulator. Also I can propose perl-scripts to send/recieve SMS. It's possible to run perl on any operation system. This decision worked 2 years. To be honest: project subject ("Cellphone Hex Editing to change menu options") and project description are different. May be I didn't understand well. Is so waiting for detailed description.
