I have done a similar screen recorder project recently and I would like to offer you my services. Please contact me so that I may upload the demo. There are few things to consider, however: 1. The Camtasia is a big application offering multiple of features. I may not be able to provide such things in this budget. I can only implement certain features like screen capture (desktop, window or selected area) with audio and save to a media file. The user interface will be simple WinForms application. 2. The .NET doesn't provide any video compression functionality and we have to use other media components. The standard video codecs which comes with windows only have Microsoft Video 1 which is slow and creates big files. In order to use better compression and small file sizes we must use other open source codecs (e.g, ffmpeg as you already said). 3. Camtasia has its own Tech Smith Video Codec which seems fast and produce great quality videos. However our application will be limited by the performance of codec being used, which may have an impact on frame rate as video will be captured in real-time. Looking forward to your reply.
