I've spent fifteen years as a professional programmer. Many of those years were spent writing code that scraped websites and put together reports of their contents and performance characteristics.
Building summaries of the contents would sometimes include scraping images or other data from the sites, saving it locally, and then re-formatting it as reports.
Recently some Enterprise level tools have become available which make it possible for amateurs to have a copy. If the requirements are clear enough, this should be something that can be automated and a framework written to scrape sites and write your wordpress entries.
I would be willing to follow up this one-time job with some further work to teach you how to set up your own copy of this tool and to turn over the code I write so you can run it yourself at your discretion.
A lot of this will depend on how standardized the sites you want to pull content from are. Flash, Java Applets, or other dynamic content will be more difficult to pull data from. But if these are fairly simple sites with text style data then it should be something that automation could be written to do and serve you for a good while.
