The goal of the project is to implement a smart home by controlling electronic devices at home remotely and to get an alert .The devices are controlled by a mobile phone using the SMS service available and the alerts are also received as an SMS mentioning the activity occuring. The application consisted of two units, the microcontroller and the mobile unit. The mobile unit acted as a recipient to get responses from the micrcontroller as well as a controller for giving instructions. Different operations are performed based on the given instructions. In addition to this, the microcontroller unit is responsible for reading input from the sensors ( Temperature sensor like LM35 and light sensor ). The Arduino platform is used as the system platform with Arduino Uno Board as the microcontroller board. The SIM900 GPRS/GSM module is used to communicate between the microcontroller unit and the mobile unit. The system should be installed at any place and can be controlled by any mobile phone supporting the SMS service. The mobile phone neither needs to have any special features nor hardware nor any special application to use the system. The system consists of two sensors which are used as heat detector and motion detector along with a remotely managed light system. NOTE : AS DESCRIBED IN PROVIDED REFERENCE , WE DON'T NEED TO IMPLEMENT ALL THE THINGS. WE ONLY NEED TO IMPLEMENT THE PARTS REGARDING TO TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND REMOTELY MANAGED LIGHT SYSTEM.

My Degree-electronics project included arduino. Also i have done many hobby projects using arduino. I can provide you all the programs code, ckt diagram, pcb layout, a small report of working. If you require hardware than that will cost a little extra (50 % more than my bid amount). I already made the same project during my Diploma and Bachelors....I used GSM SIM900 module with Arduino Uno for Controlling Home lights......I started initially by controlling relay and switches by giving a miss call and then i controlled it through sending sms.......it also had feed back sms receiving protocol whether the lights, fan, tv etc have been turned on or off...... I upgraded my Smart Home project by Bluetooth module used with arduino uno which works from my Android application which i built and designed for my bedroom.....my .APK file works on every android phone and turn on and off home light,fan,tv etc wirelessly as well as it detects the presence of persons in my bedroom

Hello, I've read your project specifications, using an Arduino UNO and the SIM900 (Which I already have) I can make your smart home system. I have thought about some improvements that can be done to the system implemented on your attached document, for example: A verification of the relay status, the Arduino may be sending a close signal but there might be a problem with the relay not closing, this is an alert that should be notified via SMS. Full range temperature sensing (Not limited to +2 - +150 °C but to -55 +150 °C), with max/min alert via sms (Temperature is too hot or cold) and with the ability to change the parameters via SMS (Alert me if temp is too hot when >X). If you have thought about any other improvements to be made we can discuss them before starting to code the system.

I have done a similar project in past, using the Arduino UNO and gsm sim300 module. I am good at both the arduino IDE and the AT commands of the sim300 and sim900 modules. I also have worked with the LM35 temperature sensor.
