Currently, I have got an Ubuntu 10.10 server running squid so users have to input a username and a password to get online. However, I have to manually set a proxy value on the client machines. I need this to be done automatically. And, I have 2 routers.

This should be quick for someone who knows what he is doing. I have an Ubuntu 10.10 Server that is running squid. I need it so that when the client machines want to access the Internet, a login prompt will appear to ask users for a username and a password. Everything is almost finished. I've got 2 routers. One connects to the Internet, and the other one (an AP) is connecting to the switch. Please see attachment for this. Currently, when my PC connects to the AP, I need to set a proxy number in order to see the login prompt. But, if I connect to the main router (which is connecting me to the outside world), I won't be able to see the login prompt ever. I basically need 2 things done: 1. I want it so that I don't ever have to set a proxy number on the client machines 2. It doesn't matter if I connect to the main router or the AP, I should be able to see the login prompt coming up. Will provide ssh login with root privileges.
