Design a Logo for Brain Spice!

Hello! My name is Colin, and my wife and I are starting a new retail business called "Brain Spice". We are looking for someone to design a logo that will ultimately represent the heart and soul of our new business! Let me first tell you a little about Brain Spice, and about ourselves. I am an analytical chemist of 25 years' experience, 11 of which have been in research. My wife, Christine, is a primary school teacher, also with 25 years' experience. Brain Spice is a concept. It is the combination of our passions: the raw passion that first drew me to science, and the raw passion that drew Christine to teaching. We want to create a retail business that attracts parents and kids as much as it attracts teachers and local schools. It will sell a combination of quality educational supplies, science-based toys, games, books, and the coolest gadgets that we can source worldwide. We hope that our shop will awaken, maybe for a moment, despite all of the cynicism in the world today, a sense of wonder and enquiry in adults and children alike. We live, after all, in a beautiful and fascinating world. So, our logo. Our shop needs to appeal to three target sectors: teachers (or anyone involved in education), children (7-15), and parents. Our logo will need to have a broad appeal to all three groups. It can't look too juvenile and childish (so as to drive away education workers), and it can't look too serious and "education related" (so as to drive away children). But we do want it to impart a sense of fun and individuality. The successful logo will include both the shop name, and a graphic - but the graphic needs to be strong enough to stand on its own. The graphic will be a little quirky, like the shop name. It will be instantly recognisable on a shop window, or on a letterhead, or on the side of a vehicle. It will emit a sense of discovery, maybe bafflement (rather than defeat), maybe learning for pleasure (rather than grades). It will have a positive vibe, that might bring a smile. The shop window will have the sub-title: "feed your mind". I thought this might help to jog some ideas. The successful artist will provide, for the agreed price, two high resolution graphic files: the logo including the shop name, and the same logo without. For some reason, I envisage the logo as a combination of white and deep blue - perhaps white on a blue background. These are colours that I clearly associate with the mood of the shop somehow, but I could be persuaded away from them. Thankyou for reading, and good luck!
