Build a Website

We are looking to develop a web app which can perform cash flow forecasts. The predominant function of the web app will be to take inputted data and output a table and graph after several formulae have been applied. We have an excel workbook that has these formulae in and can be played around with to work out which data gets sent where should you take this project on. The output of the data will need to be able to be turned into a PDF that can be downloaded. Each customer of ours will want to have potentially unlimited clients that they can create forecasts for. Once a forecast has been made it will need to be saved and be able to be recalled. When creating a new forecast the data previously entered will need to be immediately drawn into the new forecast, but be editable. The PDF output will either be branded by our logo & name or by the customer’s logo & name if they have paid an extra subscription price. There will also need to be certain features that are disabled for those who are not on the correct package – the branding mentioned above is an example of this – but available for those on the correct package. Our customers will generally speaking be financial advisors. When advising clients advisors assess their attitude to risk [ATR], each ATR will have a different expected mean gain and tolerance for loss. Averages for these are provided by several different companies and updated regularly, we would like to be able to let out clients choose which company they get there ATR definitions from and then we would update these figures when they come out, which would then cascade down into our customers forecasts. Of course, there should also be the option for customers to enter their own ATR categories and associated figures. I.e. we need the option to be able to easily manage content on the site from our end which our customers may want to draw upon. This would include the underlying formulae as well. Each of our customers will need an account management section whereby they can change some overarching preferences for all their clients and also some generic items such as their email address/password/subscription package etc. There will also need to be an ecommerce section where our customers can sign up to various packages, determining the access they have when logged in to the different calculators/branding etc. Certain clients may well be businesses with various advisors, if that is the case they would likely receive a discount when they have x number of advisors signed up, therefore we will need to be able to “link” customers dependent on their business from our point of view though they would only have access to their own clients. Common payment methods would be supported, Visa/MasterCard/PayPal etc. On top of that there would be the usual contact us/pricing/about us pages etc. Overall the website needs to have a clean and modern look which is intuitive and simple to use with essentially no training on the customers part. The site should be responsive and mobile optimised, though for this sort of site use on a mobile phone is unlikely and would probably be cumbersome no matter how well made however for tablets it is certainly needed! This way our customers can use the tool in front of their clients, updating it whilst sat there and being able to interactively use it. Security is also essential, as is where any stored data is based, it needs to comply with EU Data Protection Act at all times. Looking to the future there may be extensions in terms of adding new forecasters/calculators on. A fully synced mobile/tablet app that can be used offline could also become an option. We would also need some sort of ongoing support and well commented code for possible future issues/projects.
