Custom Applescript to compare tables of data

Hello, I've been writing for Mac since 2009, occasionally publishing to the app store. There's some past work in my portfolio. I'm not too well-versed in AppleScript but if necessary will make it in that language, in any case I'd love to work on a demo version of an application before any project assigning and the likes. If you give me examples of file1 and file2 I can start writing something to automate the process, give the demo, and then finish up through Freelancer if you're happy with the result. I'm Mac OS developer with many years of experience that's why I'm sure you'll be impressed with my work. I can create simple GUI application where you'll select both files (through standard File Open dialogue) and after you press Start button it will generate Excel spreadsheet that lists all the individuals in file2 and indicates whether they appear in file1 or not.
