Android: Handling keyUp and keyDown on the soft keyboard

I need to be able to handle keyup and keydown events when using a soft keyboard. I need a a small application that has one activity with the edittext and the button. When a user types using soft keyboard, the app should record time of pressing, time of releasing for each typed character. On button click the app should write recorded info in the file.
