I have built an MSI as well as a custom setup tool. The custom setup tool runs as soon as the MSI finishes the install. All this custom setup does is have the user enter in a username and password and does some authentication to a server and it gets back a hash and saves the hash value in the program files folder. What I want to be able to do is customize the MSI itself so I can add this step to the MSI process and get rid of the extra setup tool I made. First of all let me know if this is possible and if so if you can show me some proof that you can do it. Just build an MSI that has some additional prompts. First person will win the project. Good luck bidding.

I work with MSI's (professional tools) for more than 5 years, I know absolutely everything about them and how the MSI engine works and its capabilities. If you are the -out of the box- setup maker, means that you know how to build it in a silent manner, so that I can implement it into the MSI actions. The MSI will gather the information about the user and password -> that information will be passed via command line to your tool (which will be stored binary into the MSI) and your tool will do the rest (server authentification a.s.o.). All of this under the MSI progress.
