Our company owns two Discmakers ElitePro4 Auto DVD Duplicators. Please reference the Discmakers Website for information about the duplicators features and specifications.
They are networkable duplicators, and have software included that allows a job (printing a disc, copying a disc, etc.) to be sent from a remote computer, over a LAN.
We are have recently added an E-Commerce site that allows clients to order specific dvds or cds.
We need to build a program, preferably in C# (because it will integrate well with out facility-wide control system, also C#), that will take a text field (perhaps in a database) generated from an order placed on our E-Commerce Site, for example, "dvdAonecopy" that will tell our duplicator to make "one copy" of "dvdA".
Another option is to build a networked "macro" type program, which will simply take the information from the E-Commerce Site, and translate it in to a series of actions to be performed on the duplicators internal computer (so that if someone was to turn on the duplicator's external screen, it would seem as if someone was actually using the duplicator, using the exisiting duplication software)
Either way, the end result is to automatically duplicate discs that are ordered from the E-Commerce Site. The duplicator has an input bin, capable of holding 200 blank discs, and would need to have an alert come up when the duplicator needs to recieve additional blank media.
I am open to bids up to $1,000 USD at this time. If you think that price is unreasonable, please contact me at my email below, and let me know why and what you consider to be more realistic for this type of programming.
Thank you,
- James Heliker,
Director, TVBR Studios
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
Windows XP, operation over existing LAN.
The program will run on its own dedicated PC, connected to the internet via LAN. It will need to actively take information from an order database on the E-Commerce site and build a "que" of jobs for the duplicator, and at a set time (for example, every day at 12:00 midnight) connect to the duplicator over our Facilities LAN, and either send the "que" list of jobs, or actually send the necessary commands for each job (each disc to be duplicated)
Discmakers (the manufacturer of the duplicator) does not publish any SDK, or control protocol relative to their duplicators. Therefore, the coder will need to determine what commands/codes are sent via the existing software over a LAN.
The software is available on request, please email
