Hi We are team of a Drupal Developer, a themer and a designer. Description looks simple and complete, good to go with, but we would also like to show case different approaches to get this done so to find the best one suits you. Please revert back in case you feel interested. The way we do is create different prototypes using different set of modules, let the client review them and get back with the feedback, once a prototype is approved by client we implement the same on live site. We usually hosts our ptototypes on acquia free instances so no extra costs but really helps our client to have a look into what different options we can have. The prototypic approach has been working great so far over the projects we have done so far, reason being it helps the client and our developing team to quickly get insight of different functionalities which we get out of the box and decide what to include among differnet prototypes in the live site. We have recommendations from our team for job portals which we like to put in front of you. Hope to have a quick meeting with you :) FYI: we also prefer the workflow where we avoid custom codes as they are not easily manageable for long terms and always make upgradation path a little tricky.
