Ran across a situation where I need the directory specified on one URL, i.e.
[login to view URL]
to be redirected as a parameter to another URL
i.e.
[login to view URL]
I'm hoping to do this in such a way that I don't have to create a folder for each affiliate that signs up, simply to have it redirect back to the main site...
The whole thing is LAMP-based, so I had suspected that it could be housed in the .htaccess file in my directory, but do not know the syntax enough to get up and running.
It is being hosted with a 3rd party, so my ability to affect server configuration is highly limited.
Looking for a simpler and more elegant solution that writing a script to build n number of directories

1) Completed code solution in form ready. I will handle the uploading to my production server.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
3) No copyright expected/Open source preferred
