Add device support to existing open source software package. I am trying to add support for a specific device (HP Procurve) to an existing network monitoring package (NMIS). This is a test project to form a relationship with a development company, and there are several future device support projects and and additional feature work after completion of this first project. The ideal candidate/company will have a background in perl and perl-cgi development. ## Deliverables There is an existing guide, to adding device support to the application. [login to view URL] I will provide access to a development system that has an HP switch connected and 'visible' over the network to the host system. I use Ubuntu linux for OS with standard install of NMIS 4.3.6f. The resulting code should support detection of interface up/down state (currently based on ifName being present) CPU, Memory and other features available for Cisco switches.
