Auction Shopping Cart, Search Facility, Lot zoom facilty and catalogue archive facility

We develop and manage an online auction website for our client. ? The client runs at least one traditional auction sale per month from their company premises with 1000 plus lots for sale per sale. There regularly run several sales per month all of which are available online under separate categories. Bidders register on the site and after logging in they can place bids on one item at a time. ? The site does not require live bidding at the moment but this may happen in the future. We need to upgrade to online catalogue into more of a "shopping cart" facility, where? bidders log into the catalogue, place items they are interested in? into their "basket" before checking out when they have finished. This will send one email to the client to confirm which items a bidder has placed a bid on. The catalogue will also require a search facility. Almost all lots include images.? We would like a zoom facility so a bidder can zoom in on the image to see it in more detail if required. The whole catalogue should be easily searchable.
