Create website for a walking tour company

I am looking for a designer with experience in Wordpress, and with good aesthetic sense. I bought a theme from Themeforest, and would like to have it adapted to the particulars of this project. The theme is this one: [login to view URL] I would like the website to somewhat replicate this website: [login to view URL], as I found it very similar to my idea, and they have it quite well laid out. However, I don't want to be a blatant copy of that website - as I don't want to infringe copyrights. I see it as a great opportunity for a designer to build on the strengths of that site, and also come up with something that is unique to the identity of this project. As soon as I find a suitable person to work with, I can share the identity files (logo, fonts, etc.) as well as the template source through Dropbox. I will also give you access to the wordpress backsite. I work quickly, I respond quickly to your questions, and like to really give the designer the opportunity to take the initiative and showcase their work. Ideally, I'd be looking for somebody who can get behind the overall vision for the project; one who works well independently and who can know intuitively what elements are essential. In terms of important elements (must haves), I think a good search function is important, a good online booking tours system is also important, and also key is to have a clean, well-thought out display of what we offer. Again, I really like the contextravel site, especially the tour "status" (confirmed, pending confirmation, etc.), and the opportunity to trigger a series of conversations with the potential client (thru the site and over email). I would also like to have a shopping cart incorporated - happy to purchase a wp plugin that you can incorporate. At this point, I am looking for mere mock-ups (placeholders) for 4 tour offerings. A new local initiative, Ottawa (de)tours offers walking seminars with a twist to individuals interested in delving into various issues that have shaped Canadian public policy. A roster of local experts lead groups of up to 8 people on one to one-and-a-half hour leisurely walks around Ottawa’s streets that are most imbued with significance for a particular seminar theme. “We wish to offer a cross between a Jane’s Walk, a university lecture, and a networking session, combining these for a chance to hear unique perspectives, meet new people, and have a special place-based experience, whether you’re visiting Ottawa for the first time, or have lived here for 25 years” says xxx, (de)tours founder. Currently in the pilot phase, Ottawa (de)tours is debuting a small initial list of offerings which will include seminars on: the nature of Canadian democracy; Canada as a peaceful/warring nation; and, relations between Canada and its Aboriginal groups. “Our seminar guides have lived experience of these issues, and are at a point where they wish to impart their wisdom after a career in the field”, xxx says. The seminars may include visits to offices that have been influential in shaping particular debates, and may end in a luncheon/dinner through which patrons can be introduced to one another and discuss takeaways and next steps in a more relaxed setting. As part of the pilot phase, (de)tours is organizing a limited number of its seminars free of charge in exchange for patrons’ thoughts, as a means of testing the market and to understand what individuals are most interested in as part of an Ottawa walking seminar experience.
