adding Features to Small OLE php/mysql Project

At my university, we use an online learning environment (OLE) to offer some online courses. The OLE is like a discussion board/forum, where students post messages ("notes") in topics. Notes are arranged into threads, like in most online discussion forums. I have started to develop a research tool (Php/MySQL) that can be used by researchers to 'code' notes. What it means to code a note is that you read student notes, and then choose a coding category for each note. For example, we might be interested in categorizing notes as "shows humour" and "does not show humour". We'd read each note, and then choose the appropriate coding category. Or we might want to code each note into one of the categories "asks question", "responds to question", "offers information without responding to a question". It doesn't matter what the coding categories are, just that we can define a coding scheme (a list of categories) and then choose one for each note. I am hiring someone to finish the coding tool, by adding a few features that I will detail below. I wrote the original code and will send it to you. It is ~600 lines and is structured into several php files. It is reasonably commented but formatting is poor (you might start by adopting a consistent indentation format etc.). The original sourcecode supports users logging in, choosing the course they would like to code, entering the categories for the current coding scheme, entering a list of student names to anonymize/hide while the notes are being coded, actually coding the notes, and exporting the coding to csv files. Each course has its own notes, and users will code one database at a time. I will give you a sample database with some fake topics and notes in it so that you have a small example of how the tool should work. All courses (and their notes) are in the same MySQL database, but each course has a unique identifier so that we know to which course each note and topic belongs. The new features are: allowing users to use multiple coding schemes, adding some user management features, adding import/export features, and several related features that I will fully outline in a detailed document.
