Customize outdated Pligg module to work with my site

I have a newly installed Pligg v1.2.2. I am trying to set up the standard, free, RSS import module. However, it seems the authors no longer support this module as of a couple of years ago, and so it has not evolved to continue to be compatible with the latest versions of Pligg. I'm looking for somebody who has either worked with this module already, or who knows enough Pligg so that they can do some light troubleshooting and patching. The deliverable would be to take the existing rss import module, tweak it as necessary, and deliver a copy of the RSS import module that will work with my Pligg installation. I am thinking that this job would take 1-2 hours for someone who already knows Pligg under the hood.
