Design 3D objects (using Rhinoceros / Maya / 3d Max etc.) and then converting the 3D object to 2D parts that can be printed on a sheet of paper

We am looking forward to hire skilled and creative heads who can design and deliver. [login to view URL] would have 1000s of professional who would meet all my requirements, but we would need to select only a few and best amongst the lot. Let me give a very simple example of what exactly we want: Let's say we need you to design a very simple 3d object (a drinking glass for e.g.) and then we need you to deliver me a .pdf file which has 2 sections - 1. Parts & 2. Instructions 1. Parts - Imagine opening / unwrapping a drinking glass you designed into least number of 2d parts, then you would get 2 parts (a Rectangle & a circular disc). A rectangle whose 2 opposite sides can be joined to make a cylinder and a disc to close one side of this cylinder to make a drinking glass. 2. Instructions - An easy to understand and illustrative document to explain how to use these 2 parts to make a drinking glass. Idea is to print out the Parts section on a paper, cut the parts using a scissor / knife and join / glue the parts as mentioned in the Instructions section of the document so that we have a Paper Model of objects you designed (in this case, a paper model of a drinking glass) In order for us to select a few amongst you, please send us a sample .pdf document containing: -a picture of any 3d object you may choose (should be simple but a challenging one e.g. a round shaped object etc.) -2d parts of that 3d object -instructions to join those parts to make the 3d model again -And when we print out the parts on a paper, we should be able to read your instructions document and join the parts to make a model that looks similar to the object you choose to design. Revert before 8th Sep 2012 with the required document and we will revert to those who would be selected to work for us. And once you are hired, we will then discuss rest of the legal things.
