I have a Perl script called port-proxy that is about 350 lines, It listens on given port then forwards the request to a server on the back end. It uses IO::Sockets, IO::Select,Win32::Daemon, and Posix 'setsid' The script works well, as is, but I would like for it to read the ip address of the back end server from a separate file in the same directory on a set schedule, ie. every request or every x seconds.?
I am trying to learn this but think I am in a little over my head with Perl.
