Hi! First, congratulations to whoever in your life is getting ready to tie the knot. It's a big day, and you'll be a big and important part of it. I'd love to help you with your best man speech, and have enough availability this week for this project. I've worked with folks before on wedding speeches, and find that the process below works best. Let me know what you think, and please reach out with any questions.
> Initial Consultation: At the start, we'll talk (over the phone or Skype) so that I can get a sense of who you are, who the couple (to be wed) is, and to get an initial sense of what you'd like your speech to say. This is the time when I do a lot of listening - to try and get a sense of your "voice." A lot of folks can write a wedding speech, but you want yours to sound like - well, you. And to be filled with your stories, your memories, and jokes you feel comfortable with. Since you've got some general ideas/thoughts, this will be a quick process.
> First draft: I’ll draft an outline for your review, and we'll work through it together - tell me what you like, what you'd change, what you hate. Based on your comfort-level with the draft, you'll have an opportunity to read it out loud and see how it sounds, in your own voice.
> Second (and subsequent drafts): The process of revision continues, until the speech is finalized.
Thanks for considering me. Please reach out with any questions.
